Prototype 5 Summer Series: A Hands-On Design & Build Experience for Kids (Ages 10-12)

$199.00

Looking for a summer camp that’s both fun and educational for your child?

The Prototype 5 Summer Series at HER Home Design Academy offers a unique hands-on experience where kids ages 10-12 can explore the exciting worlds of design, architecture, construction trades, and remodeling.

Over the course of one week, students will engage in creative projects, learn real-world design skills, and build their very own 3D models based on their dream room! This is the perfect summer camp for kids interested in art, construction, remodeling, and technology.

  • Location: Her Home Design Academy, 5356 W. 79th Street, Indianapolis, IN

  • Date and Time: Monday through Friday / 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

What Will Students Do?

During this summer camp for kids (ages 10-12), students will participate in engaging, hands-on activities that allow them to explore both their creative and technical sides:

  1. Create a Dream Room Mood Board
Students will dive into the world of interior design by crafting a mood board for their dream room, selecting colors, textures, and furniture styles. It’s a fun way for kids to explore aesthetic choices and develop an eye for design and remodeling!

  2. Design and Build a Mini 3D Model
Taking inspiration from their mood boards, students will bring their ideas to life by designing and constructing a mini 3D model of their dream room using foam boards, craft materials, and fun decor items. They'll learn how to convert their ideas into a tangible, real-world project and explore the basics of construction trades.

  3. Explore 3D Printing Technology
Students will experience the future of design with an introduction to 3D printing. As part of their project, they’ll design and print a small object (such as a mini chair or lamp), giving them hands-on exposure to this innovative technology used in modern construction and remodeling.

  4. Mini Exhibition Day
At the end of the week, students will have the opportunity to showcase their work in a mini exhibition. They’ll display their mood boards and 3D models, giving them the chance to share their creative process and talk about their designs. This exhibition is the perfect way to celebrate their accomplishments in construction and design.
